ARE YOU SCARED? (2006)

Six young people wake up in an abandoned factory thinking they have been selected to participate in a reality show called "Are You Scared". What they don't yet realize is they are indeed in a reality situation; a deadly one. A demented madman has kidnapped them with the intention of killing them in very grisly manners. Why? There is a reason but no spoilers here today!!!
If you see the trailer for
this film, or the DVD cover, you probably would call this film "SAW LITE". A
madman kidnaps people, has them in a contained building, and kills them in
elaborate, gruesome ways.
But upon viewing the film, you find it's completely different. The madman's reasons are not as, shall we say, "noble?" as Jigsaw's. These youths are totally innocent, nice people, but there is a specific reason one of them was chosen. And of course, the ending is set for any potential sequel.
Reviewing this film on it's own merits, not it's similarities to "SAW", I have to say I enjoyed it very much. It's short running time of 79 minutes keeps it from dragging on too long, and some of the killing are very inventive. By having the advantage of knowing and working off their fears, the killer is able to not only end their life, but to torture them with fear while doing it.
He has his reasons, he wants
his revenge, but does he get it? See for yourself. You won't be
disappointed.
